Join us for a special POUND fitness workout led by Pam Chamness from UAH. POUND® is the world's first cardio jam session inspired by the energizing & sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND® transforms drumming into an incredible workout. Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® is easily modifiable with many variations.
Sounds like a great way to build core strength and flexibility which all us cyclists need. Oh, and there are lots of squats to get the quads ready for spring hill climbs and sprints.
Wear gym clothes, shorts or leggings and tee shirts. Bring a mat or beach towel for the floor. And you might want a water bottle. Don't eat before, since we'll order pizza for later.
Come around 6 PM for a brief club meeting. We'll have the workout from 6:30 to 7, then enjoy some pizza and beer (to make sure all those spent carbs are restored). Wear your gym gear and get ready to make some noise with POUND fitness!
