Title: Strawberry Ride from Guntersville Dam
Distance: 43.1 miles & 23 (no major hill)
Start Location: Guntersville Dam
Date and Start Time: Saturday, May 28 @ 8 AM
Ride Leaders: Lewis Harmon, lewisbirdharmon@gmail.com, 256 651-4537 (c) &
Amanda Nevins
Description: SCCC is having a picnic at Guntersville Dam. SCCC will be providing sandwiches and drinks AFTER the strawberry ride for SCCC members. If you want a sandwich, please indicate you are coming so we can get a headcount for food. The food should be available between 11-12. We will be starting and finishing the ride to the Maggie Valley Berry Patch at the Guntersville Dam. The route rides on the shoulder of 431 and then ascends Grant mountain on White Elephant road with a ~1.25mi climb at 7% (steeper need the top).
The Map and cue sheet follows:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39471209

The moderate average pace will be probably 14-15mph on this ride, but all paces are welcomed. You are encouraged to bring a cue sheet and/or map.
Amanda will be leading a slower group on the 43mi route, also.
------
There's an update to the Dam picnic this Saturday. We now have a second short and flat route that will be led by Ken and Regi which starts at 9:30AM.
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39563833
