Description: This is a moderate JULY 4 CELEBRATION Ride and the riders are expected to ride in a group. The route has lots of rollers/hills plus a major climb up Butler Mill. The climb is approximately 1 mile and we will re-group at the top. Then we will turn left on Anderson Rd (out & back). After Anderson we will ride on top of Grant followed by a descent of Cottonville. We will have a quick stop at the bottom of the mountain to view the scenic area called Natural Bridge followed by an approximate 1-mile on the shoulder of Hwy 431 for a Rest Stop. We will then go to Guntersville Dam picnic area on the return. The cumulative elevation climb for the route is ~1784 ft and the expected overall average pace is 15-16 mph.

Rest Stops at ~23 miles (Filling Station), Dam’s Picnic Area

Rain is in the forecast for Thursday so we will monitor the weather.

Description: This route is a moderate ride of 56 miles. The first segment is a BEAUTIFUL ride that goes through farmlands, lots of wooded areas and has lots of rolling hills on back roads. Some roads are rough and some descents are relatively fast with curves. Caution is key word!! The first segment goes the first Rest Stop at Delina Market. After the 1st RS the route does a 10-mile loop back to the Delina Market for an optional Rest Stop. The route returns
on part of the first segment and then goes to Highway 247 for the return. The average overall pace will be 15-16 mph and it has lots of rollers and a cumulative climb of ~2250 ft.
NOTE: At ~Mile 52 there is a 4 mile climb back to Taft (not steep just long).

There are 2 Rest Stops at the POPULAR Rustic Delina Crossroads Market (“Somewhere in the Middle of No Where”). The first is before the loop @ ~mile 21 and the second is at ~31 miles after the loop.

Saturday looks to be a good day for cycling.

Bring a cue sheet and/or a navigational device. Also, have the phone number of the Ride Leader and the phone number of at least one friend.

Again, this is a moderate ride with plenty rollers/hills so be sure you can do the stated average pace for the stated miles. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the stated pace or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.

Program will be an update on the Singing River Trail, presented by HSV City Planners. Learn about progress on the 70 mile bike route along the TN River to Florence. When will it be ready for cyclists?

Description: Looks like there is going to be a break from rain on Saturday AM. Therefore, we are planning to do moderate rides with 2 groups. Each group will do 45 miles but at a different pace. Howard will lead the faster group with a planned overall average pace of 16-17 mph. Hunter will lead the slower group with a planned overall average pace of 15-16 mph.

The route heads North and goes into Tennessee at mile 11. Then it loops around the state with an Old Railroad Bed Rd climb of approximately 4 miles with small incline. After the climb the route returns to the start location. The route has a cumulative climb of 1075 ft.

We will watch the weather and will make a weather call if needed.

Everyone is expected to ride together in each group. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace than the designated leader or deviate from the route, then you are on your own.

Again, these are moderate rides with a few rollers, and one 4 mi incline with a small grade, but make sure you can do the stated pace and distance.
