How to Add a Ride to the Calendar

Active club members can create rides for the SCCC Events Calendar as a membership benefit.
When you create a 'QuickEvent' ride on the calendar you can...

  • Set the time, date and select or create a start location.
  • Save as an 'Event' and then create automatic email reminders to all active members.
  • Copy the event to create a standing regular club ride.

Insurance!

Most importantly, any ride appearing on the club calendar is an 'official' SCCC sponsored ride and is subsequently covered by club liability and supplemental accident insurance.  This insurance covers SCCC members in the event something unexpected occurs on your ride. This is one of the benefits of SCCC Membership.

How to create a calendar ride....  It is not that difficult.

  • Log onto the Springcity.org Homepage. If you cannot remember your login, you can reset your password, or contact the SCCC Webmaster or Membership Director for a password reset.
  • Select 'Events' pulldown at the top of the homepage to open the grid calendar. Click 'Add QuickEvent' at the top right of the open calendar.

QuickEvent Snip

  • Save the QuickEvent.

  • Once your ride is saved to the calendar, you can open the ride again and then convert the QuickEvent to a full event using the QuickEvent Tools on the right side of the page.
  • When saved as a full event, you can set up to two automatic email reminders to all active members, create a more detailed ride description and copy the event to create a weekly standing ride.

This is a great membership feature we can all use to update and populate our online rides calendar. Having an active rides calendar is a proven way to attract new and visiting riders to our pop-up and weekly club rides. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it.  If you run into difficulty, you may contact our Webmaster or Rides Captain for assistance getting rides onto the Events Calendar.
