Title: Cloud Cove & New Hope Ride 40
Start Location: Berkley Recreation Center (CLOSED), 1617 Old Hwy 431, Owens Cross Road
Date & Start Time: Saturday, 12 Jun, 8:00 AM
Distance: 40 Miles
Ride Leaders: Lewis Harmon, lharmon@mchsi.com, 256 651-4537 & Hunter Chockley, chockleyj@bellsouth.net, 256 527-8643
Description: This will be a 40-mile scenic Cloud Cove Ride along with meandering thru New Hope. It is a moderate ride with an average pace of ~14-15 mph. It is relatively flat with some rollers. No major climb.
Rest Stops: Cowboy Church ~12 miles (no services), and Jif-E-Mart ~24 miles
The link for the cue sheet and map is as follows: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36368382
Rain showers are forecasted for Saturday (nothing new). The route stays in the area and can be shortened depending on the weather conditions. Of course, We will monitor the weather forecast.
Bring a cue sheet and/or a map and/or a loaded device to the ride and have the phone number of the Ride Leader and also a friend.
Again, this is a moderate ride with some rollers so be sure you can do the stated average pace for the distance of 40 miles. If you choose to ride at a much faster pace or deviate from the route then you are on your own.
